8. An unfaithful wife

Paul Osborn of the UK auctioned his wife on eBay for allegedly having an extra-marital affair with a colleague. The auction attracted attention from people all over the world and bids poured in as high as $1 million. The description of Paul Osborn’s auction read “lying, cheating, adulterous slag of a wife.” But Mrs. Osborn denied her husband’s allegation, even though Paul said he read the email exchanges between his wife and co-worker that proves the allegation to be truthful.

9. A girl’s virginity

An 18-year-old Bristol University student named Rosie Reid auctioned her virginity on eBay in 2004. It started as a joke, but then Rosie realized she could earn “good money” if she actually sold her virginity. The auction had 2,000 bidders in all. The winning bidder, a 44-year-old British Telecom engineer, bought Rosie’s offer for £8,400 ($10,866).
