Thankful Hearts

When the parents were interviewed, they couldn’t express just how grateful they were to every single person involved in Brooklyn’s case. Jesse said, “we were just incredibly – I feel ‘thankful’ is not a strong enough word – but thankful for the gift of life that [the donor’s] family had chosen in the midst of their sorrow and grief.”

Saving Lives

Nick and Jesse Faris had also found out that the donor’s liver had done even more amazing good than just for their daughter. In fact, Brooklyn only required about a quarter of the liver, which had been donated by an adolescent. But the remaining portion of the organ also went on to save another adult patient who had been long-suffering in their liver failure.
