However, there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Why did the ship sink when there was clearly no collision, no other ship in sight? Why were the cabin doors tied open instead of closed shut to keep water out? The evidence clearly hinted that the ship was intentionally destroyed to keep officials from gathering evidence. More importantly, a Sam Simon crew member remembered how Captain Cataldo pumped his fist in the air when his ship finally sank. He then proceeded to climb onto the confiscated nets to simply sleep as if nothing happened.
