A delicate process
The entire process was delicate not only because the authorities wanted the plane parts that were intact to remain as such, but also because of the ammunition on board it. Bomb disposal experts had to be absolutely careful to remove each debris to avoid detonating any of the ammunition.
A proper burial
Forensic experts were also present to recover the pilot’s fragile remains. It will soon be determined whether he will be buried in Germany.
