Mike “The Sensation” Sorrentino
With a full-of-himself nickname like “The Sensation,” it isn’t hard to expect that Mike Sorrentino will be quite a handful. Well, He didn’t disappoint.
Sorrentino first gained notoriety as a cast member of MTV’s Jersey Shore, a reality show that aired for six seasons (2009-2012). He became a house-hold name, mostly because he was the guy on the show that everybody loved to hate.
But fame came too fast, too soon for Sorrentino. In 2014, shortly after being arrested for assault after fighting with his brother at their family-owned tanning salon in New, Jersey, Sorrentino was charged for tax fraud, allegedly skipping on paying taxes on earnings amounting to $8.9 million dollars. In 2018, after a lengthy legal battle with authorities, Sorrento pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion and was sentenced to 8 months in prison, 2 years of supervised probation, and 500 hours of community service.
