Bobby Shmurda
Ackquille Jean Pollard, known popularly in the recording world as American rapper Bobby Shmurda, first gained popularity in 2014, following the release of his song “Hot N*gga.” The song’s music video, featuring Shmurda doing his signature “Shmoney dance,” went viral on YouTube shortly after, making him one of the internet’s most recognized faces.
But the celebrations didn’t last for long. On December of 2014, Shmurda, together with 14 others, were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder, reckless endangerment, drug possession and gun possession. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison and will be eligible for early release by the year 2020.
