His defense team continued with their argument, saying that there were “2 sides to Krebs.” They said that Krebs had a “friendly, outgoing one and the disturbed one who suffered from a psychological disorder called sexual sadism.” One of his attorneys, Bill McLennan says of Krebs, “Rex has a soul, and Rex knows profoundly that what he did is wrong. And he doesn’t try to shift that blame on anybody else. He doesn’t say, ‘This was not my fault – somebody did this to me and I shouldn’t be accountable for it.’ It’s always, ‘I did this.’ “

Was He Even Remorseful For His Actions?

Although not everyone agreed that Rex was sorry for what he did. His own father, Allan said, “He’s not sorry. He’s sorry he got caught.” And even though he claims that he still loves his son, he thinks that Rex deserves to get the death penalty, which is what the prosecution ended up fighting for. Allan went on to say, “If he wasn’t my son, I’d say he deserves the death penalty. So why should I say, no, he doesn’t now?”
