Not only did Judge Fredman say Krebs was dangerous, he also claimed that “Krebs would strike again.” If not properly treated, he believed that Krebs would go on to attack another woman. Judge Fredman also insisted that he go to the Atascadero State Hospital, which had a program for “mentally disordered sex offenders.” But the California Department of Corrections admitted that Krebs never went there. He did get psychological treatment after his jail time, but that didn’t last long. Sadly for Aundria and Rachel, authorities should have listened to Judge Fredman.

After Krebs was released from jail, he moved around to quite a few places until he finally found his worn down residence in Davis Canyon. It was as remote as it could possibly be, only being able to reach the house via a long, dirt road. He had tried living elsewhere, but his neighbors would find out that, not only was he an ex-con, he was a convicted sex offender, making matters much worse for him. When he moved to his last residence, it was as isolated as he was lonely, making it the perfect place for Krebs to commit his crimes.
