By 2006, Richardson was tried and sentenced to life in prison as a 70-year old. Now, the cops finally had the answer they needed, but by 2016, Richardson had already been dead for four years. He died behind bars and the Halison family would never meet the man who murdered their daughter. And because he was already dead, the authorities worked with what they had left.

Searching for Solid Evidence

They took a blood sample from Richardson’s old case and matched it to the ones found on Wendy’s case. They also looked into his track record. He definitely had a liking for young, attractive brunettes. Each victim was strangled and their cars were left abandoned. There was clearly a routine to his killings and while they definitely needed more proof to say their theories were 100 percent accurate, they had to work with what they had.
