Once news broke out about what had happened to the Allman home, and to Stevie, funds began to pour in to help the retired and unemployed citizen. Not only had her lovely neighbors decide to help clean up what they could of the fire at her home, and the surrounding areas, but there was even more than $3000 collected from donations to help pay for her hospital bills. It would seem that many were willing, and happy, to help someone who had done so much for the community.

The Governor of California at the time, Pete Wilson, had even put out a $50,000 reward for information, and the arrest, for those responsible for setting Allman’s home on fire. Soon enough, the story of what had happened to Allman garnered more media attention, and a major investigation into the case became full blown.
