July 7, 1984

On the evening of July 7, 1984, Ricky would invite Gary along with him and his two friends, Jimmy and Albert, to go get high. They headed to a spot in the Aztakea Woods were they would soon take some angel dust. Making a fire to stay warm, the four boys would get high, joking around like nothing was wrong. But then as the fire began to wind down, so would Ricky’s patience with Gary not yet paying him back the money he owed, and he would begin to request for some very odd things from him.

Asking For His Jacket

Although Gary didn’t know it just yet, Ricky was about to do something completely unfathomable. At first, he told Gary to give him the sleeves of his denim jacket to keep the fire burning. So after cutting them off, they threw them into the flames, but those too would soon turn to ash so he asked for Gary’s socks. And when those began to slowly burn out, what he was going to ask for next would make Gary understand that Ricky had much more sinister plans for him.
