While in custody, Ricky would confess to his horrible deeds. He also told authorities that ‘the devil made him do it,’ and that he had pleased Satan as he had heard a crow caw right after the killing. But in another depressing turn of events, Ricky Kasso would choose to commit suicide just a few days after his arrest, hanging himself on July 7 with the bed sheets that were on the bed in the cell he was detained in.

Ricky’s best friend, Jimmy Troiano, went to trial on April 4, 1985. Their other friend, Albert, was also questioned in the death of Gary. And while he had supposedly been so high that he didn’t know what was going on nor did he help them, he did claim that Jimmy helped Ricky by holding Gary down during the brutal attack. Jimmy had also given a few of his own confessions about what went down that night, but his story kept changing, making many believe that he was so high, it gave him a deluded perception of had truly transpired that night.
