Meeting Ronald Joseph Platt

While in North Yorkshire, Walker, who was already posing as David Davis, had met a young woman named Elaine Boyes who worked as a receptionist in a fine art auction house. They came to talking and she had told Walker that she and her boyfriend, Ronald Platt, who worked as TV repairman, had dreamed of moving to Canada one day because Ronald was originally from there. In fact, Ronald loved Canada so much that he even had a maple leaf tattooed on his right hand.

Becoming Business Partners

The two men eventually became friends and even began a business together. After knowing them for a while, Walker offered Ronald Platt and his girlfriend Elaine Boyes, ‘directorship’ of his company. He named the company ‘The Cavendish Corporation’ and eventually, the two took his offer. Walker began to send them on trips out of the country, and while they were away, he would have them change Swiss Francs into British Pounds.
