Attila was becoming more and more famous by the minute, and his robberies were getting harder to commit now that establishments were well aware of the infamous robber. He ended up hiring an accomplice, and old teammate who happened to be the son of the UTE coach, Gabor Orban. They would end up robbing 13 banks together, once even outlandishly disguising themselves as policemen.

But the authorities were soon going to catch a lucky break. Knowing more or less his modus, the police happened to be able to catch up to Attila and Gabor on the very last robbery he would ever commit. On January 15, 1999, practically completing 6 years to the day of his first heist on January 22, 1993, Attila was caught at the Romanian border before he could make it across. Finally, The Whisky Robber was caught.
