Crossing The Border

Romania had been a communist nation since 1921, but in the 80’s, it was on the verge of overthrowing the government. So in 1998, Attila decided that he was going to take matters into his own hands and do what he had to do to make a better life for himself. He rode underneath a freight train from Romania to Hungary, and illegally crossed the border.

Arriving In Hungary

Once he arrived in Hungary, he applied for political asylum, as well as his citizenship. But it was going to be much harder to achieve than what he originally imagined in his head. And within just one month of his arrival in Hungary, he was going to do the unimaginable and land a job on a professional hockey team. And although he knew how to play, he wasn’t very good at it.
