Pretending To Be His Son
For reasons not completely known at first, Shawn would be paralyzed by fear, allowing himself to go on with the charade that he was Devlin’s son. While being held captive, he never attempted to call the police on Devlin, or his own parents to tell them where he was. The only time he had actually attempted any contact was when he had written a note on his parent’s website, which they set up in the hopes to find him, saying, “How long are you going to look for your son?” He wrote his name down as Shawn Devlin, and no one ever found out that it was actually him, until after he was found.
