Her Husband Wasn’t Even In New York
To make matters even worse, although the possibility of that seemed impossible, Marina’s husband Kevin wasn’t even in New York. He had been on a business trip and was flying home at the time. As soon as he landed in JFK airport, he turned on his phone and received a barrage of texts, emails, and a voice call from his wife that made his knees go weak. There were police waiting for him to give him the devastating news, as well as bring him straight to the hospital where his inconsolable wife and only remaining child alive were waiting for him. Kevin shares, “It’s the worst thing imaginable. I was hoping it was a nightmare, but it wasn’t.”
