Obviously, that didn’t work because he found himself sitting in a jail cell, wondering how he would be able to reboot his career after this scandal.

This was when Agent Hilbert sought him out. The straight-laced family man needed help in stopping these hackers from penetrating companies in the US. He was an unlikely ally because after all, Hilbert worked hard to get to the top, whereas Popov decided to take the shortcut to success. However, this unusual partnership proved to be productive. At least that’s what Hilbert believed.
