In reality, Popov had actually worked with a Ukrainian student named Sokolov from the very beginning of the heist. Their goal was to get as much money as they can collect from the hacks. While the two men had never spoken again, Popov still remains thankful for Hilbert. Popov thinks about his former partner with fondness. Hilbert was kind to the Ukrainian, especially during that one Thanksgiving Day. Hilbert, on the other hand, has not said anything about this incident. With the scandal behind him, he moved on to another career and has kept mum about everything, hoping that the past would simply disappear. And whatever the case may be and however things turned out, no one can deny how Ant City penetrated the cyber world successfully and was able to stop some of the world’s biggest hackers in their tracks.
