EXCUSE GRANTED?

Grant said that he was in a car accident prior to the year of the murder. This resulted in memory loss on his end. Though he’s currently undergoing treatment and is taking medication, he sticks by his original declaration. He repeatedly affirmed that he didn’t know Penney and he wasn’t meeting her in secret. So, police asked for a sample of his blood, to which he agreed. However, he changed his mind the very next day, stating that he was following his attorney’s advice.

GETTING A WARRANT

On September 19, based on the blood and fingerprint match, and the probable cause, a search warrant was finally procured. They were able to get Grant’s blood and came to the conclusion that this was a perfect match to the one they found on the crime scene. Then they looked back at the sketch based on witness accounts, and the man on the drawing did resemble a younger Grant. The police were now a step closer to solving the case.
