10. Joint and Muscle Pain

Food poisoning may also present with joint and muscle pain. Certain bacteria, such as Salmonella and Campylobacter, cause a condition known as reactive arthritis, a painful form of joint swelling particularly in the lower extremities. However, it is not uncommon for these aches to occur all over the body, presenting as a generalized, heavy, and painful feeling similar to what is experienced during a flu.
