Unexplained Fever

Fever, with body temperature reaching over 100°F, can be experienced. It can be intermittent or on and off, and it can also be continuous. An infection is commonly regarded as the cause until ruled out as people with lupus are more prone to infections due to the nature of the disease, or to the medication itself. An indication that the fever is not caused by an infection but rather a disease activity is if there is a low white blood cell count.
