16. Thich Nhat Hanh Earnings Go Up To $1.5 Billion

Zen Master, teacher, poet, author, peace activist Thich Nhất Hạnh was ordained as a monk in 1949 and designated editor-in-chief of Vietnamese Buddhism, the periodical of the Unified Vietnam Buddhist Association in 1956. He’s the founder of Lá Bối Book Publisher, the Vạn Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon, the School of Youth for Social Service (SYSS), and have established monasteries and Dharma centers all over the United States and Europe. Nhất Hạnh created the Order of Interbeing in 1966 and in the same year he received the “lamp transmission”, making him a dharma char ya, from Zen Master Chân Thật. Zen Leader Nhất Hạnh traveled widely leading retreats and has written many books on mindful leaving. His latest books are called How to Eat and How to Love and are part of the Mindful Essentials series. He currently lives in France at his Plum Village Zen Center.
