Helen Mirren As HM Queen Elizabeth II – The Queen (2007)
Helen Mirren, one of the quintessential sex symbols of the 60’s, played HM Queen Elizabeth II in the movie The Queen. Mirren looks nothing like Her Majesty, but in the movie, she did look the part uncannily. To get the part right, Mirren paid a lot of attention to the voice and physicality of the queen. She watched numerous movies about the queen to study the way she talks, the way she holds her head, as well as the way she walks. Having tea with the queen also helped her tremendously, which, according to her, provided her with important insight into the queen’s true character. Her determination and hard work gave her success when Her Majesty gave her seal of approval and won an Oscar for her portrayal.
