Just how good did Val Kilmer portray The Doors frontman, Jim Morrison? He got so much into his character that at the end of filming, he needed to get therapy because it was difficult for him to get out of character. Although he wasn’t a The Doors fan, he wanted the role so much that for a year before filming, he lived like Morrison. Kilmer dressed in his clothes and immersed himself into listening to all The Doors music. Eventually, he talked, walked, and sang so much like Morrison that the film crew started to refer to him as Jim. Although the film did not get the critical acclaim its producers hoped for it, Val Kilmer was highly praised for his accurate portrayal.
