15. Saint Bernard
The Saint Bernard is a breed of large dogs coming from the Western Alpine region straddling Italy and Switzerland in Europe. The breed was developed to serve as rescue dogs by the hospice of the Great St. Bernard Pass on the border of Italy and Switzerland way back in the late 17th Century. The Saint Bernard is a gentle and patient breed, taking particularly well to indoor life as a family dog despite its huge size.
