8. Papillon

The Papillon is a beautiful toy spaniel that gets its name from the French word for butterfly, which its ears resemble. Ironically, despite their size that make them perfect as lap dogs, these smart and energetic dogs love moving around so much that making them sit still is close to impossible. They are great listeners, obedient and responsive to commands, which why they are considered to be the most intelligent of the toy breeds.
