17. Chesapeake Bay Retriever
This intelligent and large breed of gun dogs affectionately called Chessies, are members of the retriever family of dogs bred in the United States Chesapeake Bay in the 19th century. These dogs were used by hunters to retrieve gamebirds shot during hunting rides, as well as pull fishing nets and recue fishermen. They are excellent home companions and are often described as happy and loving animals with hearts bigger than they are.
