Members Are Getting Old
Apparently, there is a disadvantage on having a wealthy and home-owning membership base at Costco. Their customers are aging and it is still not clear whether they can replace them with Generation X or millennials. Costco has positioned itself to Baby Boomers, placing its warehouses in high-income areas. It has worked well, but that is not where the millennials are.
