Costco Keeps Track of Customers
There is a good reason why an express check-out lane does not exist at Costco. When a customer walks-in, there is an employee with a click counter taking inventory of incoming members. This head count gets relayed to the supervisor in charge of opening cash registers. Likewise, this gives them enough time to decide whether to have a certain amount of registers open to accommodate shoppers when they are ready to check out. It is an innovative way to keep the lines in check and efficient.
