Costco is able to negotiate costs at a minimum since they carry fewer inventories on stock. This means that customers do not get much choice and that is how exactly the way executives want it. Typically, a Costco warehouse carries fewer that 4,000 items in comparison to around 100,000 separate items at a Wal-Mart supercenter. For instance, Costco provides customers with one kind of mayonnaise, take it or leave it. However, the advantage of this model is that the company has multiple vendors bidding to get that single prized spot thus lowering down costs but guaranteeing sales in volume.
