Display Affection Publicly

Russians are very conservative about public display of affection, especially the older generation. So while commuting with your spouse in a public transport, do not engage in kissing, you will get disgusted looks…or worse, a babushka (granny) may just come up and whack you! And do not attempt to retaliate even with words as babushka’s are very much respected, and the surrounding people will come to her aid…not good for you.
