When forensics made a total search of his apartment after Jeffrey was brought in for interrogation, they couldn’t believe the kind of sickening evidence that they would discover after his arrest on July 22, 1991. Not only did they find seven skulls, they also found blood drippings, arm muscles, 2 human hearts, a torso, full skeletons, bags of human organs, male genitalia, dozens of pictures of his victims, and many other grotesque human body parts. According to one particular medical examiner, “It was more like dismantling someone’s museum than an actual crime scene.”

Jeffrey would eventually confess to his crimes, telling investigators, that he was “completely swept along with his compulsion to kill.” He goes on to share, “It was an incessant and never-ending desire to be with someone at whatever cost. Someone good looking, really nice looking. It just filled my thoughts all day long.” And finally on February 15, 1992, Jeffrey would be found guilty of 15 murders, receiving life imprisonment for fifteen terms. He also got another life sentence for the 16th murder, which was actually his first, which he had committed in Ohio.
