This Is What It Was Like To Grow Up With Notorious Serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer

Early Family Life

Jeffrey’s parents were known to be doting, but busy as well. While the dad was busy studying to earn his degree, his mom was beginning to show early signs of neediness. She was becoming troublesome, fighting with her husband, Jeffrey and the neighbors, causing issues all around. And when things didn’t go the way she wanted, she would throw a fit. Others believed that this was also attention-seeking behavior on her part. In fact, Joyce even attempted suicide by overdose of Equanil pills. It was safe to say that things were becoming hard at home. And this would leave a young Jeffrey alone to his own devices most of the time.

A Happy Child

In spite of the issues going on at home, Jeffrey was said to be a happy child. That was until he underwent a double hernia surgery right before his 4th birthday. And this is when everything would go downhill. His parents were always fighting, and Jeffrey was left alone a lot with both his parents not paying much attention to him. The family also moved from Milwaukee to Ohio in 1966. And despite his parents non-stop fighting, they would still go on to have another child, whom they allowed Jeffrey to name. He gave his brother the name David, who was born when Jeffrey was 6-years old.
