Opioids

In the event that NSAIDs or acetaminophen are unable to relieve the pain, doctors may opt to give or recommend taking opioids. An opioid is a substance which acts on opioid receptors and are mainly used for pain relief. These drugs are prescription pain medications as they are powerful and can be addictive. Some side effects in using opioids may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sedation, and constipation.
