Hong Kong is home to one of the largest hubs for shark fin use. Not only do the Hong Kong ports get over a hundred thousand fins sent via cargo into the city, they too ship out to many other Asian countries where Sharks Fin is considered an expensive delicacy. Not only does it normally cost between $50 to $400 a bowl, but sadly, it also gives esteem and a feeling of grandeur to those who either eat it or serve it to their guests or business associates.

Killed Faster Than They Can Reproduce

The problem with Shark Fin trading is that these amazing and prehistoric creatures are being illegally fished faster than they can reproduce. If this shark-killing predicament continues the way that is happening now, it’s been said that the Blacktip, Hammerhead, Mako, Blue, Porbeagle, Bull Thresher and Sandbar sharks species will all be extinct in the coming years. Plus, the loss of so many sharks in the waters will also lead to major damaging effects to the environment in the future, and way of wildlife in the seas.
