James Was With Her Through It All

According to Charlotte, although she had told James to leave her, he would actually give her the most amazing support. He would stay with her at the cancer center throughout everything. She would even explain, “… James gave up his life to be with me. Every day he’d be there; he’d sleep in a bed provided at the hospital by the Teenage Cancer Trust, then go straight to work in his new job as a car salesman.”

With Her Every Step Of The Way

Charlotte continued, “He was there for every op, every chemo session – every time I needed him. It was only after the event I realised the gravity of his sacrifice, a 21-year old giving everything up for someone who could die.” She also would go on to say, “That year was horrific and overwhelming in equal measure… but throughout it all I had James with me, giving me a reason to fight.”
