More Bad News

Charlotte would get more bad news hearing it had already spread to her lymph nodes. Doctors were desperate to get it out, but needed to shrink her tumor down enough before they could perform surgery to remove it. She would also require a stem-cell transplant where she needed to be kept ‘in isolation for a month.’ Plus she had to endure even more treatment with 6 weeks of radiotherapy.

Horrific Side Effects

Charlotte shared how her journey left her so sick. She would go on to lose twenty pounds in her first week of treatment and her hair would begin to fall out. Then she would even have to deal with mucositis, which Charlotte explained as ‘ulceration of the mouth and digestive tract, which mean I could barely swallow or talk.’
