Finally Living The Dream

Finally, Laura was able to move from Texas to New York like she had always hoped. When she arrived there, she shared an apartment in Brooklyn with her cousin. She quickly got a job at Bakers Shoe Store on Fifth Ave. located close to the Empire State Building, one of the most popular buildings in New York. Despite the commute from Brooklyn, Laura was loving her new city life and making the most of discovering the place she now called home.

Sweet And Naïve

Her upstairs neighbor described her to be charming, yet seemingly innocent of the ways of the city. Adam Akesson, who also lived in Bay Ridge, described her in this manner, “She was a very nice, sweet, Southern girl. It was obvious she was from out of town. She seemed very trusting and naive”
