An Aspiring Dancer

Like many young men and women in New York, Laura, who was 25 at the time, was an aspiring dancer. As was the norm for many other young individuals in the city, they were either hopeful models, actors or would-be dancers like Garza herself. But despite the competition, Laura felt that her life was finally going in the direction she was hoping for, up and up.

Going Out For The Night

On December 2, 2008, Laura made plans to go out with a co-worker to the Marquee nightclub in Manhattan. The club was known to be frequented by Hollywood stars and other well-known celebrities. It was the place to be. And yet, for Laura, it would end up becoming the worst possible place to be instead.
