A Registered Sex Offender

Although during their beginning search, they didn’t find Laura or any of her belongings in his apartment, what was notable was that Michael was a convicted sex offender. He had currently been on parole at the time when he met Laura in the Chelsea club that night. And although they had already thoroughly checked his apartment, they had yet to interview Mele himself.

His Sex Offender Charges

Michael Mele had been charged with not just one, but several sex offender convictions. One was because he would advance towards women while inappropriately touching himself. Another conviction was for masturbating inside the confines of his car after taking photos of women from behind without their knowledge. Prosecutors had even explained about the photos, “None capture the woman’s frontal face… [Mele] perceives women as an assembly of parts and hair.”
