No recollection of what she did

According to Roy Miller, in one of his visits in jail, Amy denied the shooting. For him, Amy has a “loose grip on reality,” and she seemed to be suffering from severe mental health disorder- a statement which he later took back. “This is not a whodunit,” said Miller. “This lady has committed this offense or offenses in front of the world. It gets to be a question in my mind of her mental capacity at the time or her mental state at the time that these acts were committed.”

The need for psychiatric evaluation

Miller would seek the help of more than one psychiatrist to evaluate Amy. He maintained that it was not the first time she forgot something that she had done. He couldn’t determine whether Amy was insane at that point. Or whether or not she deserved to be blamed for the murders would be up to the psychiatrists.
