Trump’s projects were not limited to privately funded developments. Donald Trump was determined to leave a mark in New York City, and after much bureaucracy, and missed deadlines, he was awarded by the city council to renovate Wollman Rink in Central Park in 1986. Trump literally made New York City know that it was he who made it possible by stamping his company’s logo where it can be seen by everyone. He also gave to charities and funded public works projects in the city.
