28. Trump wins

On November 9, 2016, the real estate mogul, celebrity billionaire and high-society figure Donald J. Trump won the United States Presidential Elections in a stunning upset over Democratic Party rival, Hilary Rodham Clinton. What was first thought as a sure win for possibly the First Woman President of the USA was not to be despite her leading the popular vote. Trump effectively pulled out the rug from under the former First Lady and US Senator with 304 electoral votes, clinching the presidency in a close battle that was watched all over the world.
