Behind the Grandeur
Germany made sure that the athletes visiting them enjoyed every kind of luxury. In the three weeks that the event took place, players and their coaches consumed a total of 100 cows, 91 pigs, and more than 650 racks of lamb. They also drank more than 8,000 pounds of coffee.
Once Great
Athletes during that time spent most of their days in the gymnasium. What was once an area that was light and airy now sits a large space with broken windows, with the floors and ceilings gathering dust from years of neglect.
