More Clues
Interest in the case intensified when Jacque’s business cards were found near the road where her car had been abandoned. That day, police labeled Clay as a person of interest, but he wasn’t the main suspect then. Jacque’s family, on the other hand, immediately knew who the guilty party had been. They had continuously asked Clay about her whereabouts and he just kept telling her that he didn’t have a clue. Of course, nobody bought his story. They knew that he had been threatening her since their break up.

The media got wind of the story and ABC had wanted to interview Clay to get his side. He refused to speak except for his attorney. He released a statement that said, “Mr. Waller misses his wife and hopes she is found okay. He has nothing to do with her disappearance and sympathizes with her family. We will not try this case in the media while there is an ongoing investigation.”
