HOW FORGIVENESS TOOK PLACE

On the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz in 1995, Eva read a statement written by a Nazi doctor who confirmed the horrors that took place during the Holocaust. Despite the scale of crimes committed against the Jews, Eva said that the total forgiveness that took place right after freed her from the pain. No one gave her the power to forgive. It was simply her choice, and that to her was something that no one could ever take away.

Eva co-wrote a book entitled Surviving the Angel of Death. It talks about Eva’s journey from being nothing more than an experiment to the woman who has decided to forgive the Nazis and all the horrible crimes they committed against the Jews. More importantly, she continues to be that beacon of hope that shows the rest of the world that forgiveness is actually possible.
