The year spent with Mengele forced Eva and Miriam to grow up. They were no longer the innocent, carefree girls they used to be. They were one of the few who survived the experiments. How they managed to do it is still a mystery to Eva. It was a miracle that they were alive at all. She and her sister even survived the machine gun attacks that came from the Soviet Soldiers who were there to fight the Nazi guards.
