A Father That Failed His Children
During the trial, Jon Pomeroy was in tears, saying just how “deeply sorry” he was for failing to protect his daughter. He continued, “Nothing I say is going to change any of this.” The young girl’s new foster father said, “No matter how you cut it, your dad is your dad. It’s hard to come to grips with what happened.” Thankfully, the State also knew how they had also failed in protecting the two kids, and they ended up rewarding them $4.6 million in damages. And even if this doesn’t take back the horror of what happened to the young teenage girl, at least now, they know that the brother and sister will be able to manage to take care of themselves when that time comes. At least for now, they are being loved just as they should have, since the beginning of their newborn lives.
