BUD THE LONELY
William “Bud” Post was married a total of seven times before he struck gold. He won $16.2 million in 1988 and started spending big on investments and gifts. He got a liquor license, restaurant lease, used car lot, and of course, a mansion. However, he was a recluse as his ex-girlfriend sued him and his brother tried to have him killed. Money can truly bring out the monster in a person, and in Bud’s case, it was the people around him. When he died 18 years later, he was living off food stamps and was a million in debt.
